Mr. Ueno Nobuhiro was born in 1965, from Shiga Prefecture (Japan). This coach came to Vietnam to work from September 2024 as part of the coaching staff of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc team, under coach Nguyen Anh Duc. After Mr. Anh Duc returned to work in Binh Duong, Mr. Ueno was invited to Becamex HCMC and took on the role of professional assistant.
In the context that coach Nguyen Anh Duc did not meet the requirements for achievements and his contract was terminated, Mr. Dang Tran Chinh was assigned the task of interim coach. However, because he does not yet have a Pro coaching certificate according to the regulations of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Mr. Chinh cannot be named as head coach from the 2025-2026 season.
Therefore, the leaders of Becamex HCMC team decided to register Mr. Ueno Nobuhiro in the position of head coach in name. In fact, Mr. Dang Tran Chinh will step down to take on the role of Technical Director cum head of delegation, while still holding an important role in the team's professional work.
In his career, Mr. Ueno has worked as a manager and coach at many teams in Japan such as Fukuyama City, Kagoshima United, Ventforet Kofu or Reno Yamaguchi. In addition to Mr. Ueno, the coaching staff of Becamex HCMC currently has another Japanese expert, Mr. Naoki Kusunose, former coach of Urawa Red Diamonds women's club.
After the fluctuations on the coaching bench, Becamex TPHCM is gradually stabilizing again. The team has won 7 points after the last 4 matches, with a total of 12 points after 11 rounds and temporarily rising to 8th place in the V.League standings.
