Dang Thi Kim Thanh returns to competition
Dang Thi Kim Thanh surprised everyone when her name was on the registration list of the Ho Chi Minh City women's volleyball team to participate in the final round of the 2024 National A tournament.
Kim Thanh grew up in the VTV Binh Dien Long An women's volleyball team. At the VTV Cup 2018, Kim Thanh and the Vietnamese women's team won the championship, after which she was voted Miss of the tournament. In 2023, at the age of 24, she decided to stop playing professionally to focus on her studies and personal plans.
She sent her request to the club and was accepted by VTV Binh Dien Long An, but with a commitment that she would not play for any other team if she returned. Kim Thanh's participation in the HCMC team has now also been approved by VTV Binh Dien Long An.
Ha Tinh has quality foreign players
The Ha Tinh men's volleyball team has just recruited foreign player Jorge Gonzalez Garcia with an impressive resume. He plays the main striker position, is 2m04 tall and comes from Cuba.
Garcia was born in 1991, has a 3m70 jump and a 3m40 block jump. He will play for Ha Tinh from the second phase of the national championship. Previously, he also played for many Asian clubs such as Al Arabi S.C (Qatar), Al-Nassr VC (Saudi Arabia), Jakarta LavAni Allo Bank (Indonesia), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria).
It is expected that on October 23, he will go to Vietnam to join his new team. The addition of Garcia to the squad shows Ha Tinh's great determination after finishing the first stage of the first round of the 2024 national championship in 8th place.
HCMC women's team goes to Thailand for training
Last year, the HCMC women's team did not perform well in the 2023 national championship and was relegated. Head coach Tran Hien's team is aiming to return in 2025 after having to play in the A-League this year.
The HCMC women's team is planning to train in Thailand to hone their skills before entering the final round of the national A-class tournament. The women's event at the 2024 national A-class volleyball tournament only has 1 promotion spot to the 2025 national championship, reserved for the champion team. Therefore, in addition to preparing for strength, HCMC is also trying to find foreign players.
