Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet reunites with Dang Thi Hong
According to information from head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, Vietinbank women's volleyball club has added player Dang Thi Hong from Thai Nguyen team to compete in the 2025 national championship. Because Thai Nguyen plays in the A league, Dang Thi Hong is eligible to wear the Banking team's jersey.
The player born in 2006 has started training with her teammates at Vietinbank. She is expected to strengthen coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's squad.
Thus, up to now, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has borrowed two quality players in the main attack position to prepare for the 2025 national volleyball championship, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh and Dang Thi Hong.
Both of the above faces are led by Mr. Kiet when focusing on the Vietnam women's volleyball team and the Vietnam U20 youth women's volleyball team in 2024.
National team obligations tightened
According to the regulations of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) emphasized that any athlete summoned to the national team or youth team who does not comply with the summons, or the club that does not allow the athlete to participate in training without a valid reason will be strictly handled.
Possible solutions proposed by VFV include considering banning athletes or entire clubs from participating in official tournaments organized by VFV.
The tightening of this regulation is to ensure that athletes and clubs are aware of the importance of representing their country on the international stage. At the same time, this also creates transparency and fairness in calling up players to the national team, avoiding the situation where athletes or teams refuse national service for personal or club interests.
Thanh Thuy is in the top
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is gradually regaining her form with an impressive performance for Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk at the Indonesian National Women's Volleyball Championship.
She and her team just had a 3-0 victory over Yogya Falcons. According to statistics, Vietnam's main attacker scored 11 points (10 attacking points with 37% efficiency and 1 blocking point). Thanh Thuy was also the second highest scorer of Gresik (after Kitania Medina with 16 points) and the whole match (with 11 points with Ivy May Villa on the Yogya Falcons side).
In the next match, Thanh Thuy and Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk club will face Jakarta Elektrik at 4:30 p.m. on January 17.
