Helena Grozer and her husband, volleyball player George Grozer, arrived in Vietnam on September 28 to officially join the Hung Yen women's team.
This Czech Republic hitter is the only foreign player that coach Tran Van Giap has increased to participate in the second phase of the 2025 National Championship.
This team said that Helena Grozer is a striker, experienced and former member of the Czech Republic Women's Volleyball Team participating in the 2025 National League.
Notably, this face once faced Vietnamese players when the Czech Republic team faced the Vietnam team at the FIVB Challenge Cup 2024. This tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team won third place.
Thus, this is the first Czech national volleyball player to participate in the volleyball tournament in Vietnam.
The hitter is 1m88 tall with the ability to jump the attack momentum of 3m20. The Hung Yen women's team (formerly Thai Binh) won the national championship in 2022.
Currently, the team is ranked 7th after the first phase of the 2025 National Championship. They will meet the Information Corps and Vietinbank teams in the remaining 2 matches of the group stage of phase 2.
Helena Grozer's contract value was not disclosed. However, the player is considered to have good expertise, capable of achieving high results with the team in the upcoming Ninh Binh. In the first phase, Hung Yen team hired foreign player Edina Begić.
