The Bulgarian team continued its impressive journey in the world tournament when defeating the Czech Republic with a score of 3-1 to win a ticket to the final for the first time.
The first set witnessed a tense match between the two teams, but mistakes in the first step and unstable performance of opposite Indra caused the Czech Republic to lose steam. Bulgaria took advantage of the opportunity to take a 1-0 lead.
In set 2, the Czech Republic tightened their defensive system to equalize 1-1. However, Bulgaria came back strongly in set 3 with the brilliance of their Nikolov brothers. They won to make it 2-1.
Set 4 continues to be a tense chase. Despite their efforts, the Czech Republic lacked breakthroughs in attack. Bulgaria maintained their mettle to end the match with a 3-1 victory.
In the remaining semi-final, Italy continued to affirm the defending champion's strength when defeating the world's No. 1 team Poland with a score of 3-0.
Both teams entered the match determined, Poland started better with a lead of 14-10, but Italy quickly adjusted their tactics to come back to win 25-21.
Set 2 witnessed continuous changes of points. Although the Polish blocker had a good playing time, consecutive serves caused them to lose their advantage. Meanwhile, Italy's tactical changes helped them defeat their close opponent 25-22.
In set 3, Poland led for most of the time but let Italy catch up and take the lead at the end of the set. Michieletto once again scored the decisive point, ending the impressive 3-0 victory for the defending champion.
The final will be a confrontation between Italy and Bulgaria, promising to bring the top competition of world men's volleyball.
