On the morning of August 27, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafstrom and the working delegation visited the Youth Football Training Center and PVF Sports Complex of the Ministry of Public Security in Hung Yen.
Here, the working delegation visited the stadium project with a capacity of about 60,000 seats, an indoor gymnasium of about 4,500 seats, along with a training ground system, a gym area and a sports hotel. The FIFA President also met with coaches and players of Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) and trainees training at PVF.
After two days in Vietnam, Mr. Gianni Infantino highly appreciated the love and passion for football of the Vietnamese people. According to the head of FIFA, Vietnamese football is possessing many important factors to aim for bigger goals, including young talents, the interest of fans, development aspirations and the joint efforts of management agencies, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), businesses and related organizations.
In particular, after directly visiting PVF, FIFA President was impressed with the investment in youth training, facilities and professional football. He said that with the current resources, vision and determination, Vietnam has a basis to set higher goals, not only within Southeast Asia or Asia.
FIFA also affirmed that it will continue to accompany Vietnamese football through development programs. In which, Mr. Gianni Infantino mentioned the FIFA Arena project to bring football fields to many areas across the country, and at the same time suggested the possibility of forming a FIFA training center in Vietnam with the support of international experts.
The PVF visit took place just hours after the FIFA President attended the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final at My Dinh Stadium on the evening of August 26 and witnessed the Vietnamese team win the championship after drawing 2-2 with Thailand, thereby winning 4-2 overall.
From the football atmosphere at My Dinh to the training system and facilities at PVF, the working trip helps the head of FIFA have more direct experiences about Vietnamese football.
The FIFA President's visit also takes place in the context that Vietnamese football has just won the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship. The success of the team and the investment in youth training, facilities and professional football are considered the foundations for Vietnam to continue to improve its position in the region.
After the program at PVF on the morning of August 27, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafstrom left Vietnam, ending a two-day working trip.
