Da Nang City Pickleball Federation said that Da Nang has officially been selected as the venue for the 2026 Pickleball World Cup. This is the first time a world-scale pickleball tournament has been held in Vietnam, marking an important step in the journey to make the city a rendezvous for international sports events.

According to the plan, the 2026 Pickleball World Cup will take place from August 30 to September 6, 2026, coinciding with the National Day holiday September 2. The event is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere when Da Nang becomes the focal point of the global pickleball community, attracting top athletes along with a large number of tourists and sports lovers.
Not only stopping at a tournament, the event also opens up a new journey of experience, where sports become an emotional bridge between people, space and movement spirit. Top matches, the exciting atmosphere in the stands and the rhythm of life spreading throughout the city promise to bring many memorable "touch points" for attendees.
The selection to host the 2026 Pickleball World Cup is the result of the process of accumulating organizational capacity and affirming Da Nang's prestige on the international sports map. This is the 4th time the tournament has been organized, with an increasingly expanding scale, gathering dozens of countries and thousands of athletes from all over the world.
In that context, Da Nang emerged as a new destination for pickleball, converging modern competition infrastructure, professional organization experience and developed tourism ecosystem. The hosting is not only of sports significance but also opens up opportunities to connect culture, tourism and trade, contributing to promoting the city's image internationally.
In 2025, Da Nang made its mark with many major tournaments, especially the PPA Tour Asia - MB Vietnam Cup 2025, an event that attracted hundreds of international athletes and set a Guinness record with nearly 8,000 spectators. This tournament was later honored as "Game of the Year" at the Vietnam Pickleball Awards, affirming the city's professional organization capacity.
From the existing foundations, the 2026 Pickleball World Cup is expected to continue to elevate Da Nang's position, not only as a tourist destination but also as a center for organizing international sports events, a place to gather experiences, connect and spread community values.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 27, at Tien Son Sports Palace, the Da Nang City Pickleball Federation (DPF) had a working session with the leaders of the Pickleball World Cup within the framework of their visit to Vietnam.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Tran Phuoc Son - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Council, Chairman of DPF; Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh - Director of Da Nang City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and representatives of relevant units.
At the working session, the two sides focused on exchanging views on the plan to host the Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, agreeing on contents on organization orientation according to international standards, implementation roadmap, tournament scale, infrastructure conditions and operational work. Contents on communication and connecting international athletes were also discussed to ensure the tournament takes place professionally and effectively.
This is considered an important preparation step, creating a foundation for Da Nang to aim to host the Pickleball World Cup in the near future.
