Phase 1 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship ended its final competition day on the evening of March 31. After 10 days of competition, LPB Ninh Binh was the excellent team to win the top spot in the women's event when phase 1 ended.
Coach Thai Thanh Tung's team won all 5 matches. They defeated Vietinbank (3-1), Duc Giang Chemicals (3-0), XMLS Thanh Hoa (3-0), VTV Binh Dien Long An (3-1), Thai Binh (3-2).
One of the factors that determine the above success of the Ancient Capital team is the brilliance of opposite Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen. The 2000-born setter is still trusted as the captain of the team when entering the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship. She continued to affirm her role as LPB Ninh Binh's number 1 attacking player.
When playing in the familiar opposite setter position, Bich Tuyen maximizes her scoring ability. The 24-year-old setter showed her ability to score diversely in each match.
When caught by the opponent, following the blocker, Bich Tuyen changed her attack by dropping more, finishing cross-court to deceive the opponent's blocker.
In the most difficult times, the female player will take on the role of "team carrier", launching very strong smashes, crossing the opponent's blockers to bring home important points, helping LPB Ninh Binh turn the game around in many sets. In the current squad of the Ancient Capital team, it can be affirmed that Bich Tuyen is an indispensable position.
The second factor that helped LPB Ninh Binh play brilliantly came from foreign player Paskova. The 1996-born hitter showed her quick adaptation when coming to Vietnam and being in the squad of coach Thai Thanh Tung.
With top-level competition experience and the bravery of the Bulgarian captain, Paskova has brought formidable attacking power to LPB Ninh Binh.
She showed good coordination and determination to reverse the situation in many difficult sets. With a height of 1m80, a jump range of 3m05 and a block range of 2m94, Paskova is very active in attack and defense.
LPB Ninh Binh's middle blocker Le Thanh Thuy shared: "Paskova is a fairly comprehensive player, from defensive attack to agile first-step catching. In particular, she played very passionately on the field. This foreign player helps us strengthen our squad, the attack teams from the 2nd to the 4th edges and the middle blockers are very even".
For Bich Tuyen and Paskova to be able to achieve a scoring efficiency, the role of setter Vi Thi Yen Nhi cannot be mentioned. The young player from Hanoi was loaned by LPB Ninh Binh to participate in phase 1.
Because it was his second year playing for LPB Ninh Binh, the setter born in 2003 did not have much difficulty coordinating with her teammates. Confidence also helps Yen Nhi often make small mistakes and quickly handle direct points.
It can be seen that LPB Ninh Binh has concluded the first phase of the 2025 national championship with successful results. The group leader brought coach Thai Thanh Tung and his team to participate in the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 - a tournament considered the "All Stars" of Vietnamese women's volleyball.
If they continue to maintain their form, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will certainly be formidable opponents, competing directly for the championship this season.
