Novak Djokovic qualified for the Wimbledon 2026 semi-finals after overcoming Felix Auger-Aliassime in a quarter-final that lasted 5 hours and 15 minutes.

The Serbian player defeated his opponent Canada with a score of 3-2 (7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6) after a dramatic showdown, thereby continuing to nurture hopes of conquering his eighth Wimbledon title in his career.

Right in the first set, Djokovic and Auger-Aliassime created a balanced game when no player lost a service game. In the tie-break, bravery helped the former world No. 1 win narrowly 12-10.

Auger-Aliassime quickly responded in the second set. The 25-year-old player successfully took advantage of the break-point opportunity to win 6-3, equalizing the score after two sets.

Stepping into the third set, Djokovic regained control of the game with a solid attack from the baseline. The Serbian player won a decisive break and won 6-3 to once again take the lead.

However, Auger-Aliassime continued to show persistence. The Canadian player pulled the fourth set into a tie-break and won 7-4, bringing the match to the decisive set.

In the final set, the two players continued to compete fiercely before having to decide the winner with a tie-break. Djokovic took advantage of his experience at the crucial moment to win 10-4, closing the match after 5 hours and 15 minutes of play.

According to Wimbledon statistics, this is the longest quarter-final match in the history of the tournament.

Winning a ticket to the semi-finals, Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner. This is considered the most notable match in the round for the four strongest players, as Sinner is in high form, while Djokovic aims to extend his achievement at the grass court Grand Slam.

At the age of 39, Djokovic continues to show his bravery and impressive physical foundation to compete for the Wimbledon 2026 championship, and is also facing the opportunity to add another Grand Slam title to his collection.
