According to the submission, in 2020, based on the proposal of Dong A Real Estate Group, the Executive Committee of Thanh Hoa Football Federation issued Resolution No. 79/NQ-LDBD, establishing Dong A Thanh Hoa Football One Member Co., Ltd. and handing over the Thanh Hoa Football Club to this unit for management. At that time, the team changed its name to Dong A Thanh Hoa club, chaired by Mr. Cao Tien Doan.
However, on the evening of August 28, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police conducted an emergency search at the workplace of Mr. Cao Tien Doan - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Dong A Company.
To ensure the team continues to participate in V.League 2025-2026, the provincial Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism proposed that the Provincial People's Committee assign the Thanh Hoa Football Federation to receive, manage and operate the club in the immediate future. At the same time, the Federation will coordinate with relevant units to maintain training and competition in accordance with the regulations of the tournament organizing committee.
In addition, the Department also recommends studying and advising on plans to invite organizations, businesses, and individuals with sufficient capacity to participate in taking over, ensuring stable operations in accordance with professional football regulations.
Currently, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province is reviewing the content of this submission.
Under Mr. Doan, Thanh Hoa club won 2 National Cups (2023, 2023-2024), 1 National Super Cup (2023). In the 2023 season, Thanh Hoa also finished in 4th place in V.League, marking a period of sublimation. Under the leadership of coach Velizar Popov, the team has demonstrated an attractive attacking style of play, discovered many young talents and become a positive highlight of domestic football in recent years.
