On the morning of March 30, the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City in coordination with the Vietnam Television Center for the Central - Central Highlands region (VTV8) organized the Da Nang City Traditional Boat Race to expand in 2025.
The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city's liberation and respond to "The campaign for the whole people to exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", contributing to promoting the sports training movement, improving public health.
With careful preparation and high determination of the racing teams, the 2025 Da Nang Traditional Boat Race is expected to be a vibrant and successful sports festival.


Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, said: "In recent days, Da Nang City has always been bustling and bustling in the atmosphere of the festival.
And today, on the poetic Han River, the competition between the male and female boat racing teams continues with joy, excitement and an attack spirit like the storm of the historic Da Nang Liberation Day in 1975".
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, the 2025 Da Nang City Traditional Boat Racing Tournament is not only a sports competition but also an opportunity to review the history and cultural traditions of the nation.
The boatets accompanying the strong movements of the athletes, in addition to recalling beautiful memories, also demonstrate the strength, will and determination to move forward of the people of Da Nang City.
The tournament attracted nearly 400 male and female athletes from 22 racing boat teams of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province to compete. In the men's event, 22 racing teams from Hoi An, Duy Xuyen, Nui Thanh, Dai Loc, Dien Ban will compete through 5 rounds, equivalent to 7.5km.
The women's event has the participation of 5 teams from Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le and Son Tra districts, with a race of 3 doubles rounds, equivalent to 4.5km. The teams will compete on a 17-a-side boat, following the traditional racing boat model.
