On the morning of March 22, at Ho Chi Minh Square, the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized the Launching Ceremony of "Olympic Running Day for National Health, for National Security" and the Nghe An Provincial Cross-country Race 2026.
Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee: Thai Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Also participating in response were leaders of departments, agencies, branches, localities and thousands of people, students in wards and communes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - emphasized: Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's call "Preserve democracy, build the country, create a new life, everything needs health to be successful... When the people are strong, the country is prosperous", in recent years, Nghe An province has always paid attention to developing mass sports movements, contributing to improving the health and spiritual life of the people.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, youth union members, students and people in the province to actively respond to the movement "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho"; each citizen should choose a suitable sport for themselves to practice daily, contributing to building a healthy lifestyle, improving health, effectively serving the task of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of the province.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, Mr. Thai Van Thanh, along with delegates and a large number of people, participated in a response run on the central streets of Truong Vinh ward.
