Chairman of the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association - Dr. Nguyen Manh Thang has signed decisions to consolidate the organizational structure of the Association for the 2026-2031 term.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association appointed Mr. Le Viet Lam as Deputy Chief of Office of the Association, for a term of 5 years from the date the decision takes effect. Mr. Lam will be in charge of operating and coordinating office activities according to the provisions of law and the charter of the Association.

In addition, Ms. Nguyen Thi Gam was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Association of Sports Medicine for a term of 5 years. According to the decision, the Deputy Secretary General will perform professional tasks, support the operation and deployment of the Association's activities as assigned.

In addition, Mr. Pham Chi Binh was appointed Head of the Southern Regional Communication and External Relations Department - Vietnam Sports Medicine Association, with a term of 5 years from the date of signing.

Mr. Truong Minh Tuan was assigned the task of Deputy Head of the Southern Regional Communication and Foreign Affairs Department and held the position for a term of 5 years.

The appointment decisions are issued based on Decision No. 1350/QD-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs on allowing the establishment of the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association, Decision No. 157/QD-BNV approving the operating charter of the Association; Resolution of the Congress establishing the Association for the term 2026-2031 and regulations on organization and operation of the unit.
Previously, on January 11, the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association officially launched and held its first term congress for the period 2026-2031. At the congress, Dr. Nguyen Manh Thang of the Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism was trusted to be elected as Chairman of the Association.
In the first term, the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association will focus on research activities and science and technology transfer in the field of sports medicine; organize training and professional updates for doctors, experts and related staff.
The Association also participates in contributing opinions and professional advice on health care policies in sports activities, while aiming to support athletes, people exercising and improving community health.
