Launching the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association

Hanoi - Today (January 11), the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association organized the Launching Ceremony of the Association and the Executive Committee for the term 2026 - 2031.

The event officially marks the birth and entry into operation of the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association - a social - professional organization in the field of sports medicine. The event is expected to contribute to completing the athlete health care ecosystem and promoting the sustainable development of Vietnamese sports.

The Vietnam Sports Medicine Association was established under Decision No. 1350/QD-BNV dated November 18, 2025 of the Minister of Home Affairs. The Association operates nationwide, according to the principles of voluntariness, self-management, democracy, publicity, transparency and non-profit. The Association is under the state management of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the specialized management of the Ministry of Health and the management coordination of relevant ministries and sectors.

The establishment of the Association is considered a necessary step in the context of Vietnamese sports increasingly developing in a professional direction, leading to increasing requirements for sports medicine work, from injury prevention, health care, rehabilitation to improving physical strength and competitive psychology for athletes.

The Vietnam Sports Medicine Association was established with the goal of gathering and uniting a team of scientists, experts, doctors, nurses, medical technicians, and professional staff operating in the fields of sports medicine, physical education - sports and related fields. At the same time, the Association aims to share knowledge, update scientific advances, improve professional qualifications for members, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of professionals.

Also at the ceremony, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association for the term 2026 - 2031 was officially launched. The Executive Committee includes prestigious individuals with high professional qualifications and dedication to the field of sports medicine.

On behalf of the Association's leadership, Dr. Nguyen Manh Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Sports Medicine Association, committed to operating the Association in accordance with its principles, purposes, Charter and legal regulations, building the Association into a solid professional fulcrum for Vietnamese sports.
