On June 9, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province coordinated with the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Vietnam and the Vietnam Chess Federation to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Club Flag Championship at The Grand Ho Tram Strip (Xuyen Moc district).
The tournament attracted more than 1,300 athletes who are young players with good results from 30 units, provinces, cities, clubs with a strong chess movement to participate, along with the participation of top players, seed players...
The 2025 National Club Chess Championship will be held with the competition of fast chess, lightning chess and super lightning chess.
In which, chess will be organized for individuals, women, and teammates according to traditional groups (U7 to U19); standard groups (U8 to U20); mid-level, senior groups (35-50 years old and 51 years old and above), and champion groups, men's and women's doubles champions.
At the same time, the ASEAN chess event will compete for individuals, women, teammates, men's and women's doubles in the U13, U20 groups and the champion; the Maruk chess event will compete for individuals, men's, women's, mixed-women's doubles and the champion.
According to the Organizing Committee, the tournament will create a good environment for young players, thereby discovering potential seeds for orientation, investment in professional development, and improving achievements.
The matches will take place until June 10 and will close, awarding prizes to athletes and teams with high achievements.

The Vietnam Chess Federation and local authorities always support the development of sports tourism and solidarity with chess in the community.
This year, for the first time, the tournament has included a new Maruk flag competition. Along with the ASEAN flag, these two events were selected to compete officially at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in December 2025.
Therefore, this is an important preparation step for athletes to access the international competition format early, ready for goals in the regional arena.
