At the 7th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, held on June 9, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor called on all union officials, union members, and workers nationwide to unite, unite, and promote the spirit of emulation to successfully carry out the goals and tasks set by the Trade Union organization.
Speaking at the conference, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized: Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation is a document of strategic significance, decisive for the sustainable development of the country.
In that spirit, the Vietnam Trade Union officially launched the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" along with the program "Digital education in the first instance" under the initiative of the Prime Minister, to strongly spread in the Trade Union system.
The emulation movement focuses on 5 key contents.
First, propagate and raise awareness of the role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in national development, associated with the study of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on science and technology.
Second, encourage cadres, union members, and workers to proactively study, update, and apply digital technology and artificial intelligence in their work to improve labor efficiency and productivity.
Third, promote digital transformation in Trade Union activities; innovate thinking and management methods based on digital data platforms.
Fourth, promote the role of social criticism and supervise the implementation of policies and guidelines related to the development of science and technology and digital transformation.
Fifth, build collective labor agreements with popularizing content, training digital skills for union members and workers.
The emulation movement is implemented in two stages: from 2025 to the end of 2027 and from 2027 to the end of 2030. To realize the goals, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has proposed 5 key groups of solutions.
First of all, Trade Unions at all levels need to urgently specify the emulation content, determine criteria suitable to the characteristics of each group of subjects, each field of work, and link them with practical conditions at the local and grassroots levels.
At the same time, promote innovation in propaganda work in flexible and creative forms, promote the strength of information and communication technology platforms to spread the spirit and content of Resolution 57 as well as Action Program No. 02 of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
A key task is to resolutely implement the "Digital transformation project in Vietnam Trade Union activities until 2026, with a vision to 2030"; promote the construction of a Vietnam Trade Union data center, move towards digitalizing union member data and creating a modern and smooth working environment among all levels of Trade Unions.
Along with that, Trade Unions at all levels need to develop digital skills training programs for Trade Union officials; clearly define the responsibility of leaders in promoting innovation and digital transformation. The training of knowledge and technological skills for union members and workers needs to be organized regularly.
Every year, the Trade Union organization will conduct activities to honor and reward outstanding initiatives and achievements in this field.
The Chairman of the Trade Union and the Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council at all levels must directly direct and organize the implementation of the movement; the clusters and blocks of emulation must include the content of the movement in the emulation agreement and act as a criterion for evaluating annual performance results.
