Coach Kim Sang-sik proposed to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister

The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports proposed to award the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to athletes and coaches who won gold medals at the SEA Games, including Mr. Kim Sang-sik.

After the 33rd SEA Games ended, the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports submitted a proposal to award the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 304 athletes and coaches of Vietnamese sports teams who won gold medals.

At the SEA Games, 33 Vietnamese sports delegations won 87 gold medals, ranking 3rd overall. According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports, Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, the athletes have completed their assigned tasks.

Notably, in the key sports group ASIAD and Olympics, Vietnamese sports brought home more than 70% of the total number of gold medals for the whole delegation.

In the list of candidates to be awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, coach Kim Sang-sik and the Korean assistants of the U22 Vietnam team are considered to be faces with outstanding contributions to their expertise.

The above proposal continues to recognize the important role of the U22 Vietnam coaching staff in the journey to win the gold medal in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games. Under the guidance of coach Kim Sang-sik, with the support of assistants, U22 Vietnam has shown a disciplined, brave and effective playing style, overcoming many challenges to step up to the championship.

Consecutive successes at the U22/U23 level show a clear professional mark of the Korean coach and his assisting team.

The Prime Minister's proposal to award a Certificate of Merit after the 33rd SEA Games is a worthy recognition of the efforts and contributions of coach Kim Sang-sik and his colleagues.
