On August 14, the People's Committee of Hung Yen province met to listen to a report proposing to establish a professional football club, aiming to participate in the National First Division from the 2025 - 2026 season.
Currently, Hung Yen is considering establishing a professional football club without a professional football club competing in national tournaments. However, the provincial youth football movement has achieved high results in national youth and children's tournaments for many years. Notably, many players from Hung Yen are wearing the national team jersey such as Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Tran Minh Vuong, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Nham Manh Dung.
According to the proposal of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, NEXT GROUP Investment and Trading Group Joint Stock Company and Hoa Binh Football Joint Stock Company will establish Hung Yen Football Joint Stock Company, receive and transfer Hoa Binh Football Club. The team plans to keep the current coaching staff, players and register to compete in the National First Division from the 2025 - 2026 season, aiming to be promoted to V.League in the 2028 - 2029 season.
NEXT GROUP is committed to ensuring financial resources, investing in renovating and upgrading Pho Hien Stadium, building functional rooms that meet VFF standards; at the same time, renovating accommodation facilities and practice grounds at Hung Yen College of Culture and Arts (old).
The establishment of a professional football club is considered in line with the current trend of sports development, contributing to promoting the sports movement in the province, enhancing the image and position of Hung Yen on the national sports map, while attracting investment and promoting the local image.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Nghiem - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed that the establishment of Hung Yen football club was necessary. He requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to complete the policy proposal dossier, ensuring the legal basis and infrastructure plan, before submitting to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
