On the morning of October 26, more than 11,000 athletes together conquered the iconic routes of Hanoi Capital at the VPBank Hanoi International Marathon 2025.
From 1:30 am, thousands of athletes in the 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km distances started on the AIMS standard route, passing through more than 30 famous attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Long Bien Bridge, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Opera House...

In the men's 42km marathon, Huynh Anh Khoi excellently finished first with a time of 2.55 minutes and 15 seconds, surpassing "veteran" Nguyen Van Lai - the second place with a time of 26 minutes and 12 seconds.
This achievement not only helped the runner born in 2003 break his personal record, but also affirmed the strong rise of the young Vietnamese athletes.
In the women's event, former national team player Pham Thi Hong Le won first with a time of 2 hours 53 minutes 57 seconds, surpassing Doan Thi Oanh with a time of 2 hours 55 minutes 25 seconds.

In the 21km half marathon distance, Makino Saeki - an athlete from Japan won the championship with a time of 1 hour and 13 minutes 02 seconds, while Vietnamese runner Nguyen Khanh Ly won the women's event after a time of 1 hour and 25 minutes 07 seconds.
The next positions in the top 5 are all experienced runners from major domestic and foreign clubs, creating fierce competition, attracting to the final meters.
In the 10km and 5km distance, thousands of athletes of all ages finished together in a bustling atmosphere, demonstrating the sportsmanship and careful preparation of the organizing committee.
Not only a sports race, VPBank Hanoi International Marathon 2025 is also a cultural - tourism festival of the capital. During the three days of the event (2426 October), the Hoan Kiem Lake area and walking street attracted more than 50,000 visitors to visit, cheer and experience, contributing to promoting the image of a modern, creative Hanoi that is still imbued with traditional identity.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Tai - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports affirmed: "C attracting athletes from 25 countries shows the increasingly strong attraction of Hanoi on the international sports map. More importantly, the tournament has contributed to stimulating tourism, creating a clear mark in the city's sustainable development strategy for culture - sports - tourism".

This year, the tournament also continues the mission of spreading community values with the program "Growing Bamboo to fight Floods" in Nghe An. Each finisher contributes an equivalent of VND 30,000 to the fund and a total of nearly VND 200 million has been raised through 7,000 completed bibs, symbolized by the "Prosperity Tree" model in the destination area.
