The 18th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Tournament in 2025 officially opened on the morning of December 19 at Hanoi Gymnasium (No. 12 Trinh Hoai Duc) with nearly 200 journalists and athletes (36 delegations) attending.
Held in the last month of the year, the 2025 Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Cup has a special meaning when concluding a series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
Not only an opportunity for competition and health training, the tournament is also a bridge for exchange and cooperation between press agencies from the central to local levels.

The sports tournament was organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee. This year's tournament took place over 3 days (December 19 to 21), with 14 competition events, covering all age groups and athletes, including: men's teammates, women's teammates; men's singles over and under 45 years old; women's singles over and under 45 years old; men's singles, women's singles; men's doubles, women's doubles; men's doubles, women's doubles; men's - women's doubles over and under 45 years old; men's doubles with leaders and women's doubles with leaders.
The Organizing Committee applies the Swaythling format for team events with 5 singles matches (A-X, B-Y, C-Z, A-Y, B-X), while the singles and doubles events are played in a 5-game format. Depending on the number of athletes in each event, the form of competition in a knockout or round-robin format is flexibly applied, ensuring fairness and appeal.

The Lao Dong Newspaper delegation has 3 athletes participating in the tournament. In 2024, Lao Dong newspaper excellently won the first prize in the women's doubles and the second prize in the mixed doubles.
Right after the opening ceremony on the morning of December 19, the tournament entered the competition in the men's and women's team events, opening 3 days of exciting competition.
On December 20, there will be qualifying matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals of many important events such as: men's team, women's team, singles and doubles events for leaders, and age groups above and below 45.

On December 21, the tournament also organized qualifying competitions in 6 events and 2 final events: men's doubles, women's doubles, men's singles over 45 years old (final), men's singles under 45 years old (final), men's doubles, women's doubles, men's - women's doubles over 45 years old and men's - women's doubles under 45 years old, promising many dramatic matches and high professional quality.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee will award cups, flags, medals and bonuses to the collectives, pairs and individuals who won First, Second and Third prizes.
