This is the second consecutive year that Da Nang has been selected to host the Central and Central Highlands regions of the tournament. This year also marks the 7th season of the National 7-a-side Football Championship with the orientation of gradually professionalizing, creating an attractive playground for football fans nationwide.
The tournament is held in 3 regions including the North in Hanoi, the South in Ho Chi Minh City and the Central - Central Highlands in Da Nang city from May 24 to July 5. After the regional qualifying round, the 8 strongest teams representing regions will compete in the national final round taking place at the end of July in Hanoi.
The Central and Central Highlands regions this year have 8 participating teams. The teams compete in a round-robin format to calculate points for ranking. At the end of the matches, the top two teams will win the right to represent the region to participate in the national finals.
According to the organizers, this is currently the largest 7-a-side football tournament in the country in terms of scale and attractiveness. The tournament not only contributes to improving the quality of the community football movement but also creates a more exciting sports playground for fans.
Despite the hot weather at the beginning of summer, many spectators still came to the stadium to watch and cheer for the teams. The atmosphere in the stands was exciting from the first matches.
The tournament is expected to continue to spread the grassroots football movement, contributing to promoting community sports activities in Da Nang and the Central and Central Highlands provinces.
