The event takes place on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026), and also marks the 10-year journey of VOV accompanying Vietnamese futsal through the organization and communication of national tournaments.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Vu Hai Quang - Deputy General Director of VOV, Deputy Head of the Tournament Steering Committee - said that he will continue to coordinate with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and partners to build a sustainable development foundation for Vietnamese futsal in the coming time.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Advertising and Communication Services Center (VOV) for its outstanding achievements in football activities, contributing to the development of Vietnamese football in the period 2021-2025.

According to Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of VFF, the national futsal tournament system has become an important competition environment, contributing to discovering and training many players for the Vietnamese futsal team.
This is also the foundation to help Vietnam futsal maintain its position in the group of top teams in Southeast Asia and repeatedly make a mark in the continental arena.
A notable point of this season is the connection with the club-level competition system of Asia. Accordingly, the champion of the HDBank National Futsal Championship 2026 will represent Vietnam to participate in the Asian Club Futsal Championship 2027, while the runner-up wins the right to participate in the 2027 Southeast Asian Club Futsal Championship if they meet the licensing criteria of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF).
Closing the first leg, Thai Son Bac temporarily leads the rankings with an unbeaten record. Meanwhile, defending champion Thai Son Nam TPHCM, Sahako and Saigon Titans still maintain a fierce race in the leading group.

The second leg of the 2026 HDBank national futsal championship takes place from June 21 to July 25 with a total of 28 matches. Eight participating teams include Hanoi, Luxury Ha Long, Sahako, Tre Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Titans, Thai Son Bac, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City and Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City.
The teams compete in a two-round round-robin format to calculate points and rank. Each club is allowed to register a foreign player and a player of Vietnamese origin. The tournament is held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in a home-away format.
