Attending the opening ceremony were Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Anh Tu, Member of the Executive Committee Tran Anh Minh, along with representatives of the organizing committee, accompanying units and a large number of spectators.
Right after the opening ceremony, defending champion Thai Son Nam TPHCM had their opening match against Luxury Ha Long. With a force considered superior, coach Nguyen Tuan Anh's team quickly controlled the game and won 6-0.
Notably, this match marked the return of Ho Van Y and Nguyen Anh Duy after a period of injury treatment. In which, Nguyen Anh Duy reappeared on the court for the first time, contributing to helping Thai Son Nam TPHCM maintain stability in their playing style.
After many missed opportunities, in the 10th minute, Chau Doan Phat opened the score for Thai Son Nam TPHCM. In the 18th minute, Dao Minh Man doubled the gap before Bob, Nguyen Hoang Quan, Tran Thai Huy and Minh Man continued to score in the 2nd half, closing a resounding victory for the defending champion.
In the remaining match, Sahako defeated Ho Chi Minh City Youth with a score of 4-1. Despite letting Nguyen Tho Minh Huy score the opening goal in the 30th second, Sahako still showed bravery when reversing the score thanks to goals from Marco Antonio Moreira, Dao Minh Quang, Tran Quang Toan and Nguyen Van Co Phat Con.
The remaining two matches of round 1 of the 2026 National Futsal Championship will take place in the afternoon of May 10.
