On the morning of June 22, while being treated for injuries at the Dentistry - Maxillofacial Department of Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital, Ms. Duong Thi Chi (65 years old, residing in Phu Dong commune, Hanoi City) was still in shock when recalling the accident.
According to Ms. Chi, on June 16, she and a group of about 30 tourists from Hanoi City traveled on a passenger car driven by a driver from Bac Ninh province.
After days of traveling in Da Nang, Quang Tri, at about 5 pm on June 21, the group left Quang Tri to go to Nghe An to rest with a plan to continue traveling and swimming in Cua Lo beach on June 22.
However, on the way to Nghe An, when passing through Ha Tinh province, at about 8 pm on June 21, the passenger car suddenly crashed into the rear of a large iron frame truck, causing a serious traffic accident that killed the passenger car driver and injured 8 others on the passenger car.
At that time, I was still sitting and chatting normally when an accident happened causing the car to tilt, I was thrown out of the seat, bleeding on my head, dizzy. A moment later, they took me out of the car and took me to the first aid at Ky Anh Medical Center, then transferred me to Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital overnight for treatment," Ms. Chi recounted.
According to Ms. Chi, there was also her nephew on the accident car, fortunately both people were only slightly injured.
Upon receiving the news of the accident, Ms. Chi's family members also came from Hanoi to take care of her. With a fairly light injury, on the morning of June 22, the family completed procedures to transfer Ms. Chi back to Hanoi for treatment to be closer to home.

At the Intensive Care Unit of Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital, Mr. N.T. V (18 years old, residing in Tu Son ward, Bac Ninh province), the victim on the passenger car, was seriously injured, with a crushed thigh, and had his left leg amputated. Currently, doctors are focusing on caring for and treating this patient.
According to information from Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital, related to the accident between a passenger car and a truck on the Ha Tinh highway on the evening of June 21, 6 people were injured and transferred to Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital, but then 4 people requested to be transferred to Hanoi for treatment.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 8:15 pm on June 21, at Km557+200 of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, the section passing through Ky Van commune, a serious traffic accident occurred between a passenger car and a truck.
At that time, a passenger car with license plate 99H-067xx driven by driver Nguyen Tien N (born 1990, residing in Tu Son ward, Bac Ninh province) traveling in the South - North direction collided with a truck with license plate 29E-422xx driven by driver Nguyen Van H (born 1989, residing in Vinh Loc ward, Nghe An province) carrying many large iron frames.

The strong collision caused the front of the passenger car to be deformed, stuck to the rear of the truck. Many passengers on the car were injured, including some people trapped in the car compartment.
Upon receiving the news, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Department of Traffic Police) coordinated with relevant units to divert traffic and support the injured to go to the emergency room.
The Fire and Rescue Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police also dispatched specialized vehicles and many officers and soldiers to the scene to organize rescue and relief.
By 10:30 PM on the same day, passenger car driver Nguyen Tien N was determined to have died due to serious injuries after the accident.
The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
