Leaders of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation for People with Disabilities and the Vietnam Paralympic Committee are expected to assign the task of holding flags to disabled weightlifter Le Van Cong.
Members of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation for People with Disabilities will officially depart for Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand) to compete in ASEAN Para Games 13 on January 15.
Bodybuilder Le Van Cong is one of the typical faces of Vietnamese disabled sports for many years. This is an athlete who holds a historic achievement of winning medals at 3 consecutive Paralympic Games (in 2016, 2020, 2024).
The Vietnamese disabled sports delegation participated with 184 members at ASEAN Para Games 13 in Thailand. The head of the delegation is Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports Le Thi Hoang Yen. We registered 141 athletes in 11 sports including athletics (35 athletes, 2 track and field athletes), swimming (29), weightlifting (13), badminton (10), table tennis (15), chess (18), judo (4), boccia (3), archery (8), tennis (2) and swordplay (4).
At the Launching Ceremony held on December 16 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation for People with Disabilities set a goal to strive to reach 40 to 50 gold medals in the events to be competed in. The official Games will be held from January 20 to January 26.
In which, from January 17 to January 19, injuries classification tests will be conducted for athletes from various countries.
