According to Lao Dong's records, by nearly noon on January 11, the level 4 row of houses located at the end of Binh Trung market, adjacent to the riverbank, was burned down, many items collapsed, covered in black smoke.

The area where the fire occurred was blocked by functional forces to ensure safety and serve the scene handling work.
Inside the market, buying and selling activities are temporarily interrupted, small traders collect goods and move assets to safe areas.

Leaders of Binh Trung Ward People's Committee confirmed that fire fighting work has been basically completed. Preliminary statistics show no casualties; however, the fire directly affected about 5 level 4 houses with makeshift structures.
Currently, the locality is coordinating with functional agencies to statistically assess damage and support people to overcome the consequences.

As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, earlier, at about 7:30 am on the same day, a fire broke out at a level 4 house behind Binh Trung market, accompanied by a loud explosion.
Because the houses were temporarily built with wooden planks and flammable materials, the fire quickly spread, creating a column of black smoke tens of meters high. People shouted and used mini fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire but failed.
The Fire Prevention and Fighting & Rescue Force of Ho Chi Minh City Police has mobilized many fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to approach the scene from many directions to control the fire.
