Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team won the Asian championship - AVC Challenge Cup for the second time in a row, thereby winning tickets to attend the world tournament - FIVB Challenger Cup 2024.
Here, Thanh Thuy and her teammates continued to create a historic milestone for Vietnamese volleyball by winning 3rd place overall for the first time.
Immediately after returning home, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team immediately entered the next training session in Quang Ninh to prepare for the international friendly tournament in Shanghai (China).
This tournament is called "Future Star", taking place from July 18 to July 28 with the participation of 8 teams: Vietnam, Canada, Croatia, U21 Brazil, U19 France, U17 Thailand, Japan and U19 Shanghai. (China).
The representative of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said that the goal of the Vietnamese women's team at this tournament is to accumulate experience as well as test the squad.
This is also an important stepping stone for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team towards one of the other important tournaments, SEA V.League 2024 (Southeast Asia), with the first stage taking place in Vinh Phuc province (Vietnam). ) from August 2 to August 4 and leg 2 takes place in Thailand from August 9 to August 11.
The tournament features the competition of four top teams in Southeast Asia: the women's volleyball teams of Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
At the end of August, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will continue to participate in the VTV Cup 2024 international tournament in Ninh Binh from August 24 to August 31, competing with quality opponents such as the Indonesian team and the Prestige Aranmare club ( Japan), King Whale Taipei club (Taiwan - China), Hi-Pass club (Korea), Henan club (China), Korabelka club (Russia), Kuanysh (Kazakhstan).
Notably, according to the original schedule, the Vietnamese men's and women's volleyball teams will attend the 2024 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) at the end of November in Thailand.
However, because the time of organizing AIMAG 2024 coincides with the schedule of phase 2 of the 2024 national volleyball championship, Vietnamese volleyball cannot arrange a representative to attend this tournament.
Accordingly, phase 2 of the national championship will take place from November 7 to November 12, followed by the final rounds, classification and finding promoted and relegated teams.
Previously, in March and April, 9 men's football teams and 9 women's football teams played attractive matches with high professional quality, bringing exciting "parties" to the audience.
Among them, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement is the biggest surprise. From a team that had to fight relegation last season, the Thanh Hoa team played sublimely with the appearance of foreign soldiers Cai Xiaoqing or internal soldiers such as Doan Xuan, Ngoc Tram...
Other teams such as the Information Corps and LPB Ninh Binh still maintain good form, promising attractive championship races.
Meanwhile, in the men's group, Sanest Khanh Hoa, Bien Phong and The Cong Tan Cang also had good performances. Recruiting foreign players helps the tournament become highly competitive and increase professional quality.
