The first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship has 8 men's teams (The Cong MB, Sanest Khanh Hoa, The Cong Tan Cang, LPBank Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Hanoi, Lavie Long An, Ho Chi Minh City Police) and 8 women's teams (VTV Binh Dien Long An, Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals, LPBank Ninh Binh, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, Dong Bac Information Corps -TCT, Geleximco Thai Binh, Vietinbank, Ho Chi Minh City) participating.
This year, all 16 teams will use a Vietnamese head coach. Last year, fans witnessed 2 Thai experts as head coaches at the tournament (Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemical Team, Quang Ninh Team). However, up to now, the units in charge of each team only trust their grandparents.
After the 2024 season, the job of a volleyball head coach is considered a professional hot seat. Many teams have made major changes to the coaching staff, including the head coach position.
The current male runner-up Sanest Khanh Hoa team has parted ways with coach Bui Quang Ngoc and assigned the head coaching role to former player Ngo Van Kieu to direct the competition expertise in the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Similar to them, the runner-up team of Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals has changed its head coach after 2024. Currently, the person responsible for professional responsibility is coach Nguyen Huu Ha.
Meanwhile, the Information Corps -TCT Dong Bac women's team has a head coach, Mr. Pham Van Long, while the former head coach of this team - Mr. Pham Minh Dung - takes on the role of assistant to coach Pham Van Long.
Coach Pham Van Long was the head coach of Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals in the second phase of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship. In addition, the team that is a candidate for the men's championship, Ho Chi Minh City Police, also changed its coaching staff after the 2024 season.
Participating in Dong Anh (Hanoi) this time, the head coach of the team is Mr. Duong Tan Vinh. Previously in 2024, the head coach of the team was Mr. Vu Van Duan.
Each person has a different look
The 16 head coaches of the 16 teams are all experts and have affirmed their abilities through many tournaments. Last year, coaches Thai Quang Lai (VTV Binh Dien Long An) and Tran Dinh Tien (Bien Phong MB) were the two who won the national championship with their team.
This year, both of them cautiously assessed the possibility of competing for their team's achievements. Coach Thai Quang Lai once shared: "All teams are well prepared to compete in the National Championship. We respect all opponents and players who will comply with the tactics prepared in the past.
After winning the Hoa Lu - Binh Dien Cup 2025 in Ninh Binh, coach Tran Dinh Tien expressed: "Our team still focuses on stabilizing the players' expertise. This year, the competition in the 2025 National Championship will be very fierce, so it is impossible to predict anything soon".
The national volleyball championship is considered a competition between coaches and many seasons fans have witnessed how individual coaches express their emotions right on the field. When entering the competition, they all focus on their expertise. Therefore, no one wants their team to miss the opportunity to get points.
Each coach has his own personality. We see that on the field they always have professional tension, but after the competition, they all maintain a good relationship about their work.

According to the schedule, the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will be played from March 22 to March 31. After the first stage, the 4 men's teams and the 4 women's teams with the best results will qualify for the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 held in Viet Tri (Phu Tho).
