Messi shines, Inter Miami wins second consecutive victory

On the morning of March 8 (Vietnam time), Lionel Messi scored in Inter Miami's 2-1 victory over DC United in the US Major League Soccer (MLS) 2026.

In this match, Inter Miami played away against DC United but was held at M&T Bank Stadium - a venue with a capacity of more than 70,000 spectators to meet the needs of fans to watch Lionel Messi play.

Right after the opening whistle, Inter Miami quickly took the initiative. In the 18th minute, Rodrigo De Paul opened the score for the away team after an effective attack.

Just 10 minutes later, Lionel Messi continued to make the stands explode when he skillfully escaped before making a delicate chip shot into the far corner, increasing the score to 2-0 for Inter Miami.

Stepping into the second half, DC United pushed up the squad to find an equalizer and narrowed the score to 1-2. However, Inter Miami still controlled the game well in the rest of the match to preserve the victory.

This result helps Inter Miami win their second consecutive victory, and rise to third place in the MLS Eastern Conference standings.

With the goal against DC United, Messi has increased his total career goals to 899, very close to the milestone of 900 goals. Since joining Inter Miami, the Argentine striker has scored 79 goals in 90 appearances.

2026 also marks the 22nd consecutive season Messi has scored in his career. At the age of 38, the Argentine superstar still maintains stable form and continues to play the leading role in Inter Miami's play.
