On the afternoon of August 2, Barca's Twitter confirmed that they had given Neymar a day off from training with the whole team. The 25-year-old striker has arrived at the training ground and said goodbye to his teammates and the coaching staff.
Neymar is now in Porto to prepare for a medical check-up, thereby realizing the world of the century with PSG. If nothing changes, PSG will introduce Neymar next week. Previously, there was information that PSG will announce their contract on August 4, but both PSG and Barca are still stuck in the final terms.
Sky Sports has estimated the total amount PSG will have to spend on Neymar's deal. Specifically, the French club had to spend 222 million Euros to buy Neymar from Barca (calculated for breach of contract fees). After that, the 25-year-old striker will sign a 5-year contract with a minimum salary of 30 million Euros/season (excluding bonuses). In addition, the allowance of up to 40 million pounds for Neymar's father (the contract percentage for Neymar's father as the agent) also covers PSG's budget.
In total, PSG will have to spend up to 500 million Euros for this "super blockbuster" mission. Meanwhile, the revenue of the League-1 runner-up last season was only 521 million Euros. Thus, just counting Neymar, PSG considers it a "capital-rich" year in 2016.
Neymar's move to PSG has been clear, but it was not until now that the striker decided to leave. In the summer of 2016, there were reports that Neymar moved to Manchester United and Sky Sports confirmed that this was true.
However, at that time, if M.U buys Neymar, Barca will not be able to receive the huge amount of money that PSG paid in 2017.
