Currently, no volleyball team in Vietnam has announced detailed salaries or income of Thai foreign players.
In the first phase of the 2025 National Championship, 5 Thai players have registered to participate: Jakkrit Thanomnoi ( MB Border Guard), Napadet Bhinijdee (LPBank Ninh Binh), Kittithad Nuwaddee (Da Nang), Anut Promchan (Tay Ninh), Tichaya Boonlert (Duc Giang Chemicals).
In the second phase of the 2025 National Championship, starting on October 7, Thai foreign players registered include Jakkrit Thanomnoi (Border Defense MB), Kittithad Nuwaddee (Da Nang), Anurak Phanram (Tay Ninh), Tichaya Boonlert, Kuttika Kaewpin (with Duc Giang Chemicals).
Currently, player Tichaya Boonlert is a Thai foreign player playing for a long time in Vietnam. Therefore, she is entitled to a monthly salary and benefits according to the contract signed with the Duc Giang Chemical team.
The remaining Thai foreign players will play for short-term against teams in Vietnam. Therefore, they do not receive salary but negotiate to achieve a specific income level according to the competition period. It can be understood that seasonal players will receive a one-time signing bonus.
Many data have been reported in the media, but there has been no verification. In particular, Thai Women's Team player Pimpychaya is said to have a high income in Southeast Asia at around 260,000 USD/season (more than 6.8 billion VND). The Porpun setter earns about 120,000 USD/season (more than 3.1 billion VND).
Salary Expert said that the income of Thai volleyball players in this country depends on the region and each team. The average salary is about 354.862 Bath/year (more than 303 million VND). New players can receive an average salary of about 266.849 Bath/year (more than 228 million VND) and experienced players have many opportunities to receive 432.630 Bath/year (more than 370 million VND) or more.
The Thai foreign players competing in Vietnam are all fully paid by their home team for transfer fees. But certainly, they do not receive lower income than in Thailand.
In 2024, the Information Corps team had 2 quality Thai foreign players, Pleumjit Thinkaow and Siriwan Deekaew. However, this is an exchange program between the army team and its partner in Thailand, Supreme TIP Chonburi-E.Tech team. Later, 2 players Doan Thi Lam Oanh and Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh were sent to compete for Supreme TIP Chonburi-E.Tech. Therefore, the transfer fee for players is insignificant.
In 2023, Hung Yen team (formerly Thai Binh) hired a valuable main striker Sasipaporn Janthawisut. After that, this Thai player wore the Duc Giang Chemicals team jersey in round 1 of the 2024 National Championship. According to experts, the transfer value of Sasipaporn Janthawisut is very high.
