The number of coaches and athletes preparing for the 33rd SEA Games will have their nutritional allowance (meal allowance) increased.

The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports officially upgraded the nutritional regime for coaches and athletes of national teams preparing for the 33rd SEA Games, from October 1.

The new nutritional level for coaches and athletes preparing for the 33rd SEA Games is 480,000 VND/person/day.

Previously, the daily diet of coaches and athletes of national sports teams was 320,000 VND/person/day.

Circular 86/2020/TT-BTC issued by the Ministry of Finance on October 26, 2020, detailing the special nutritional regime for coaches and high-performance athletes, clearly stated: "Coaches and athletes who are called up to national sports teams to prepare to participate in the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), Asian Games and Olympic Games are entitled to a nutritional regime of VND 480,000/person/day for no more than 90 days". The sports industry applies the regulation on raising nutritional regimes according to the above regulations.

Currently, Vietnamese sports have not yet decided an official member to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. National sports teams are still actively reviewing the force participating in the 33rd SEA Games according to the list previously registered with the host Organizing Committee of Thailand.

The 33rd SEA Games will be held in Thailand from December 9 to December 20 with 574 sets of medals in 50 sports.
