The organizing committee of the Vietnam - UK Football Festival event has officially apologized to fans through the official fanpage.
According to the announcement from the organizing committee, the cause of the incident was due to an international flight problem, causing Giggs and Scholes to be unable to arrive in Da Nang in time.
The two famous players are expected to appear and interact with fans, sign jerseys, and take souvenir photos at Fan Fest - one of the biggest highlights of the 3-day event series.

Not only being without Giggs and Scholes, the anticipated guest artist, singer Tuan Hung, was also unable to attend due to the reason that his family had relatives with sudden health problems.
On the event's official fanpage, hundreds of comments expressed their frustration when many fans spent millions of VND to buy VIP tickets with the expectation of meeting, asking for autographs and taking photos with their idols.
Some people also shared that they flew from other provinces to Da Nang just to witness the two legends of the "Red Devils" with their own eyes, but in the end had to return in regret.
Because of this strong reaction, the organizers quickly posted an official apology letter and pledged that Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes will be fully present in the remaining 2 days of the event.
Previously, former players such as Teddy Sheringham, Wes Brown and Michael Owen came to Vietnam and traveled to Da Nang to participate in a series of activities, including a friendly match between Manchester Reds and the Vietnam Star team gathering coaches, former players, artists and young Vietnamese players held at Hoa Xuan Stadium.
This is the second time the international football event has been held in Da Nang, following the success of last year with the participation of some former Brazilian players. However, this incident is a reminder to the organizers to prepare more carefully to ensure the rights and satisfaction of fans.
