Nguyen Huy Hoang and his teammates Vo Thi My Tien, Nguyen Kha Nhi, Mai Tran Tuan Anh won the gold medal in the men's and women's 4x1,500m mixed relay event.
The Vietnamese relay team won the championship with a time of 1-22 minutes 53.29 seconds. This is the 5th gold medal of the Vietnam Swimming Team at the 2025 Southeast Asian Long-distance Championship.
At the end of the 4x1,500m mixed-use competition, the Thai team won the silver medal (1:00 p.m. 37.23 seconds) and the bronze medal was the Indonesian team (1:00 p.m. 33.63 seconds).
The achievement on the last day helped Nguyen Huy Hoang win 2 gold medals in the tournament. On the first day, this swimmer won the men's 10km event.
The Vietnamese swimming team ended the 2025 Southeast Asian Long-distance Championship with 5 gold medals (achievements of Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien, Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Han (2 pieces), men's and women's 4x1,500m relay) and 1 silver medal.
Long-distance swimming is included in the 33rd SEA Games competition program in Thailand. The 2025 Southeast Asian Championship is considered a competition program before the 33rd SEA Games. Vietnam Sports has registered athletes to compete in the 33rd SEA Games.
After this tournament, the Vietnamese swimming team will prepare for the 2025 Asian Championship held in India in October.
