Nguyen Thuy Linh stops in the third round of the 2025 World Championship

Nguyen Thuy Linh has concluded her competition journey at the 2025 Badminton World Championship after the third round of the women's singles.

Tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh lost the women's singles round three match against the number one seed opponent Chen Yu Fei (China) in the early morning of August 29, Vietnam time.

Thuy Linh took the initiative to take the action with quick attacks, however, Chen Yu Fei played tightly, giving the Vietnamese tennis player not many opportunities to score. At the end of the first game, Thuy Linh lost with a score of 10/21. In the second game, Thuy Linh tried to chase the score but failed to win. She continued to lose with a score of 9/21, ending the match with a final result of 0-2.

Thuy Linh is the last athlete of the Vietnam Badminton Team competing at the 2025 World Championship in France. After this defeat, Vietnamese badminton no longer has any faces. The team participated with six players, competing in men's singles, women's singles, and men's doubles. Thuy Linh was the one with the best result by reaching the third round of the women's singles.

The players will return home on August 30. After the World Championship, Nguyen Thuy Linh and her key athletes will participate in the 2025 Vietnam Open held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 9.

The tournament is at the BWF World Tour Super 100 level in the world and Thuy Linh is the current women's singles champion. On the world rankings, Thuy Linh is ranked 22nd.
