Shooter Pham Quang Huy won the bronze medal in the men's standard 25m pistol team event at the 2025 Asian Championship. This is the first medal for shooters in Kazakhstan.
The three shooters Pham Quang Huy, Ha Minh Thanh, Phan Cong Minh achieved a total of 1677 points to win bronze medals in the event. The gold medal belonged to the Indian team with 1709 points and the silver medal belonged to the Korean team with 1704 points.
In the individual results of the event, Pham Quang Huy ranked 13th thanks to a score of 563 points.
Previously, Pham Quang Huy competed in the men's 10m air gun event but ranked 29th with 571 points without reaching the final. In the 25m rapid- firing pistol event, the Vietnam men's team, including Pham Quang Huy, Ha Minh Thanh, Phan Cong Minh, has 1699 points, ranking fourth.
August 29 is the final competition day of the tournament. After the tournament, Vietnamese shooters returned home and continued to participate in the 2025 National Outstanding Shooter Championship in Hanoi.
Up to now, the Vietnam Shooting Team is achieving two gold medals, two silver medals, and five bronze medals at the 2025 Asian Championship. The gold medal achievements are all from the youth event.
At the tournament, Olympic shooter Trinh Thu Vinh won the bronze medal in the women's 25m sports pistol shooting event. She will return home after August 29 to participate in the 2025 National Outstanding Shooter Championship.
