On September 10, speaking to the press, a representative of Song Lam Nghe An Club (SLNA) said that they will appeal the VFF's disciplinary decision against the Club's U11 team.
Specifically, on September 9, the VFF Disciplinary Board made disciplinary decisions against the SLNA U11 team and related individuals for registering and using players of the wrong age in the national U11 football tournament.
Accordingly, U11 SLNA was fined 10 million VND and banned from participating in football tournaments organized by the Vietnam Football Federation for 2 years.
U11 SLNA also had all titles, cups, flags, medals and bonuses of the Song Lam Nghe An team at the 2024 National U11 Football Tournament revoked.
According to SLNA representative, the Club has not received any notice from VFF regarding the disciplinary content of the U11 team; nor has it received any notice from the competent authority concluding whether the BVB player's application to participate in the 2024 National U11 tournament is correct or not.
SLNA affirms that it did not falsify the records of players participating in the 2024 National U11 Tournament; did not send players to the 2024 National U11 Tournament with the wrong age limit.
The club does not have the function or expertise to investigate BVB's records. All documents, ID cards, and identification codes provided by BVB are in accordance with regulations.
If BVB's legal documents are incorrect, the agency that issued them must take responsibility. SLNA relies on the legal documents to register the player to compete.
SLNA representative said that they will appeal the above disciplinary decision of VFF, and at the same time hope that VFF will organize a working session with the Club to clarify the issue.
Previously, after the end of the qualifying round of the 2024 National U11 Tournament, a number of press agencies published an article with the content: Suspected age fraud at the SLNA U11 team. In which, it mentioned the BVB athlete who lied about his age by 3 years. After receiving feedback from relevant agencies, SLNA proactively did not use this player in the Final Round of the 2024 National U11 Tournament.
