On the morning of January 30th at Hoa Lu Sports Center (HCMC), the Congress of Delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City Electronic Sports Federation term 1 (2026 - 2031) was successfully held with the participation of representatives of state management agencies and 70 members who are professional organizations, electronic sports publishers, clubs, coaches, athletes and related units in the electronic sports ecosystem.
The Congress is an important event, marking a new development step of the Ho Chi Minh City E-Sports Federation in the context of e-sports increasingly affirming its position as a modern sport, associated with digital transformation, international integration and the trend of sports socialization.
In the past term, the Ho Chi Minh City E-Sports Federation has coordinated with management agencies, publishers and related units to gradually build and develop e-sports in a methodical and professional direction.
Ho Chi Minh City has contributed more than 80% of the core force of coaches and athletes to the national e-sports teams participating in SEA Games 31 and SEA Games 33. In particular, at SEA Games 33, the Lien Quan Mobile event won 2 gold medals in the men's and women's team events, while the FC Online event won a silver medal, contributing to affirming the professional capacity of Ho Chi Minh City e-sports.
At the congress, delegates elected a new executive committee with 12 members, in which Mr. Mai Ba Hung is the Chairman. The Executive Committee for the new term is expected to continue to inherit the achieved results, proactively innovate operating methods and meet the development requirements of e-sports in the new period.
With its own characteristics, e-sports are a sport in which the publisher plays the role of owning and developing the content and professional structure of each sport. On that basis, the Federation identifies the development orientation in the new stage according to the model of socializing e-sports according to the value chain, ensuring compliance with the nature of e-sports, state management requirements and the general development trend of modern sports in the context of digital transformation.
Attending the event, Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports congratulated the success of the congress. He emphasized that the Department will accompany the Federation throughout the upcoming activities. He expects the Federation to maintain solidarity, promote and inherit the successes achieved in the previous period, attract more members... to complete tasks in the upcoming term, worthy of the expectations of leaders, people and the business community.
