Accordingly, the goalkeeper born in 2003 received an invitation from a Japanese club and is currently carefully considering his career direction.
At the same time, Trung Kien's home team, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, also received a transfer proposal from an international partner. However, the mountain town team has not yet made a final decision due to the need to evaluate the replacement personnel plan. The coaching staff still has young names like Bao Duy or Vu Khang in hand, but letting the number one goalkeeper go away forces Hoang Anh Gia Lai to calculate carefully.
The possibility of going to Japan to compete is considered a great opportunity for Trung Kien and is also a positive signal for Vietnamese football. In the context of the limited opportunities for players to go abroad as in the previous period, the fact that a 22-year-old player received an offer from J.League shows that his development potential is still very open. In fact, many Vietnamese players only find opportunities to go abroad when they have reached their peak, leading to difficulties in adapting.
Tran Trung Kien grew up in the Hoang Anh Gia Lai youth training system and was promoted to the national team at the age of 18. The 2024-2025 season marks an important step forward when he took the starting position, played 24 matches and contributed significantly to Hoang Anh Gia Lai's successful relegation.
At the national team level, Trung Kien was once called up by coach Kim Sang-sik to participate in the 2024 ASEAN Cup but has not played in any match. He made his national team debut in the match against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Currently, Trung Kien is one of the pillars of U22 Vietnam aiming to win the gold medal in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games.
