On the afternoon of September 8, U23 Vietnam continued to return to the training ground to complete the final preparations for the match against U23 Yemen in the final match of Group C of the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers. This is considered a key match, deciding to take the top spot and also a direct ticket to the Final Round.
Before the training session, captain midfielder Khuat Van Khang shared with the press. He commented: U23 Yemen is a strong team, having won two matches like U23 Vietnam. I think this will be an exciting match, but both teams are aiming for solidity to achieve the biggest goal of a ticket to the 2026 U23 Asian Cup finals".
Looking back at the victory over Singapore U23, Van Khang said that the whole team had a meeting to learn from experience, especially in the finishing stage.

"Coach Kim Sang-sik reminded and instructed me a lot. We created many opportunities but there were situations where the opposing goalkeeper played too well, in addition to unlucky moves when the ball hit the post or crossbar. The whole team will continue to improve to be more effective in scoring, Van Khang shared.
Evaluating the upcoming opponent, the midfielder born in 2003 said that U23 Vietnam has carefully studied the competition video of U23 Yemen.
Coach Kim Sang-sik analyzed and reminded us of many things, but I would like to not reveal the tactics. The most important thing is that the whole team focuses on themselves, competing in the spirit and playing style that has been built. U23 Yemen has many strengths, especially when they are confident in holding the ball, said Van Khang.
On behalf of the whole team, Van Khang affirmed his determination: U23 Vietnam always aims to win against all opponents. Playing at home with the enthusiastic cheers of the audience, we will try our best to win and give to the fans. Our goal is to win absolute points and maintain the top position in Group C in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers".
