This is the first time a Professional Boxing (Wrestling) Conference on a continental scale has been held in Vietnam, organized by Shadow Entertainment under the guidance and coordination of Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBA).
More than 50 delegates, including high-ranking leaders of the World Boxing Association (WBA and WBA Asia) organization, representatives of the Federation, and Professional Boxing Committee from countries across Asia, will gather at this conference.
The list of guests includes: Mr. Gilberto Jesus Mendoza - Chairman of WBA; Mr. Julio Thyme - Vice Chairman of the WBA Rating Council; Mr. Jose Oliver Gomez and Mr. Chew Lopez Ricardo - Senior Advisors at WBA; Representatives of the Japanese, Korean, Philippine, and Singaporean Boxing Committees will attend this conference.
The organizing committee stated that, in addition to the main activities, such as seminars on boxing-related issues in the region and discussions on future development directions, the upcoming event will also feature a training course and certification for referees and judges, organized by WBA Asia in collaboration with the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF).
Different from previous courses, participants will have the opportunity to directly observe the weight and technical inspection of a professional tournament.
Within the framework of the conference, a professional boxing event will also be held, where WBA Asia will introduce a new title to find the champion of each country, including Vietnam and China.
The WBA was established in 1921, making it the oldest and one of the four largest organizations that organize major professional boxing tournaments worldwide.
Therefore, the WBA Asia 2024 Conference held in Ho Chi Minh City provides a rare opportunity to elevate the status of Vietnamese boxing.
Currently, boxing in Vietnam is rapidly developing, with dozens of professional training centers across the country.
Through the upcoming WBA Asia conference, organizing units, referees, and athletes will be updated on the latest professional boxing knowledge and information, thereby expanding their network and seeking opportunities for cooperation.
In addition, the WBA Asia 2024 conference will also be an opportunity to promote the image, people, and potential development of professional boxing in Vietnam to the international community.
