The VTF Juniors Tour 1 National Youth Tennis Championship - AP Sports Cup 2026 takes place from June 1 to 8, at the Tennis Court Complex belonging to the Binh Duong New City Community Sports Center (Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and AP Sports, gathering 18 delegations from provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide with nearly 500 athletes participating in competitions in age groups from U8 to U18.
At the end of the tournament, 144 medals were awarded for the events of all age groups competing from U8 to U18. The Ho Chi Minh City unit excellently won the overall first place with 12 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 19 bronze medals, affirming its leading position in the training of young athletes.
Ranked next are the Army (4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 5 bronze medals) and Ninh Binh (3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 3 bronze medals). The next positions belong to An Giang, Hanoi and Da Nang.
A prominent new point of this year's tournament is the application of the competition format according to the recommendations of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for youth tournaments. Individual events compete in a round-robin format to calculate points in the early stages, before entering the knockout round to compete for the championship.
The new format helps athletes compete in more matches, accumulate practical experience and maintain competitive motivation throughout the tournament. This change is highly appreciated by delegations and athletes, contributing to improving the professional quality and attractiveness of the tournament.
Throughout the tournament, the athletes competed and contributed, bringing many attractive matches with high professional quality. Many seeded players and typical faces continued to affirm their form and bravery to achieve outstanding results and maintain national rankings such as: Nguyen Minh Duy (U18 Da Nang), Nguyen Xuan Mai (U18 An Giang), Le Phu Gia (U14 Ho Chi Minh City), Tran Thai Thanh (U12 Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Van Truong Hai (U10 Army), Nguyen Duc Anh (U8 Ho Chi Minh City)...
The tournament also recorded positive signals for Vietnamese tennis with nearly 500 players participating in large numbers, improved professional quality and the appearance of many promising young talents, showing increasingly clear effectiveness in youth training in localities and units.
