On the morning of June 1st, at the tennis court complex of the Binh Duong New City Community Sports Center (Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the opening ceremony of the VTF Juniors Tour 1 National Youth Tennis Championship - AP Sports Cup 2026 took place with the participation of a large number of athletes, coaches and guests.
The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Tennis Federation in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and Luminous Trading Investment Joint Stock Company (AP Sports Club). This is the opening tournament in the system of 5 national youth tennis tournaments in 2026, taking place from June 1 to June 8.
According to the organizers, this year's tournament attracts nearly 500 young athletes from provinces, cities and units across the country. Players compete in age groups from U8 to U18 in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
Many prominent young faces of Vietnamese tennis participated in the tournament such as Le Phu Gia (HCMC), Vu Tuan Phong (Hanoi), To Binh Nhien (Ninh Binh), Nguyen Linh Nhi (HCMC) or Dinh Tien Dung (AP Sports Club).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Son - Vice President cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Tennis Federation, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said that youth training is always identified as the foundation for the sustainable development of Vietnamese tennis. He highly appreciated the companionship of Ho Chi Minh City, a locality with a strongly developed tennis movement, modern facilities and rich experience in organizing large-scale sports events.
At the event, Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi also sent words of encouragement to young athletes, wishing the players to compete wholeheartedly, confidently pursue their passion and spread the beautiful image of Vietnamese sports.
With a large scale and highly expected professional quality, VTF Juniors Tour 1 - AP Sports Cup 2026 is considered an important playground for young players to accumulate experience, improve their skills and aim for international tournaments in the future. The tournament also contributes to affirming the development orientation of Vietnamese youth tennis by creating conditions for young talents to compete regularly in a professional and highly competitive environment.
