On December 23, the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting program to commend the coaches and athletes of the People's Public Security (CAND) with high achievements at the 33rd SEA Games.
Attending and chairing the ceremony were General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; along with leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association; units under the Ministry of Public Security and the Public Security of some localities; representatives of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, national sports federations...
In the overall success of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports has made great strides. Participating in the 33rd SEA Games with a force of 50 coaches and athletes, competing in 15 sports, this is the largest delegation of CAND sports ever gathered at a Congress.
After nearly two weeks of competition, the People's Public Security sports force won a total of 27 medals, including 11 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 7 bronze medals - the highest achievement in the history of participating in the SEA Games of the People's Public Security sports.
In particular, shooting is a bright spot with the mark of shooter Trinh Thu Vinh, who won 4 gold medals and broke 3 SEA Games records, affirming her superior class and steady competitive spirit.
In martial arts and sports with professional applications such as karate and rowing, the People's Public Security athletes continue to show clear advantages in terms of physical strength, technique and discipline, winning many important medals.
Another mark is the men's football championship when U22 Vietnam came back to defeat Thailand. Notably, all 3 goals were scored by players who were mature from the training environment of the People's Public Security force, Dinh Bac, Ly Duc and Thanh Nhan, affirming the strategic orientation and effectiveness of training, management and development of athletes in the force.
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Public Security awarded Certificates of Merit to coaches and athletes with outstanding achievements at the 33rd SEA Games, and announced the Decision to recruit athletes Trinh Thu Vinh and Nguyen Ngoc Tram into the People's Public Security force and work at the People's Public Security Sports Training and Competition Center, demonstrating the interest, recognition and long-term development strategy for sports in the force.
Speaking at the meeting, General Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and commended the efforts and contributions of the team of CAND sports coaches and athletes; emphasizing that sports are an important part of the strategy to build a disciplined, elite, modern People's Public Security force, contributing to enhancing the image and position of CAND sports courage in the national and international arena.
