Pre-match information
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will face Korabelka club (Russia) in the final of the VTV Cup 2024 international women's volleyball tournament.
In the recent semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team excellently defeated Expressway Club (Korea) with a score of 3-0. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team had an impressive performance with a reasonable playing style, diverse attacks and fewer mistakes.
In particular, Bich Tuyen's impressive performance contributed greatly to the victory of the Vietnamese women's team. She played aggressively, scoring points with powerful smashes at the net and behind the 3m line, along with delicate drop shots that made it difficult for her opponents.
In addition, Nguyen Thi Trinh and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh also played well. They were two of the athletes who scored the most points for the home team in the recent semi-final match.
Compared to the group stage, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has significantly improved their first pass. Khanh Dang, Nguyet Anh and Bich Tuyen herself have handled the first pass better, thereby launching more effective attacks.
On the other side, Korabelka club (Russia) had a perfect record before participating in the championship match.
In the group stage, Korabelka had 9 points after 3 wins (without losing any set). In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, they defeated Paint Masters (Philippines) and Kuanysh (Kazakhstan) with the same score of 3-1.
This is considered a very strong and formidable opponent for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the final match. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will face many challenges if they want to successfully defend their throne.
Although the team is newly established, Korabelka has recruited many talented players and potential young players. Participating in VTV Cup, they have only 1 9x player, setter Anna Uknevicus - born in 1992. Meanwhile, the remaining 12 members were all born in 2000 or later.
Korabelka's advantage is his physique and physical strength as all the players have very good height, especially the defensive line with the presence of the middle blockers Zakharova (1m92), Palshina (1m86) and Lifar (1m92).
Therefore, Bich Tuyen and her teammates need to have a reasonable strategy to launch effective attacks, need a little "trick" to be able to dodge and score points for the Vietnamese team against a "dinosaur" blocker of the opponent.
