December 15 promises to be one of the busiest competition days of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, when athletes enter competition in many strong sports, including many decisive events leading to medal achievements.
The focus of the day is women's volleyball, where the Vietnamese women's team will face Thailand at 5:30 p.m. in the final match. This is considered the biggest challenge for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team at the tournament, and at the same time an opportunity for Vietnamese women's volleyball to aim for the gold medal against a fateful opponent.
In the men's football event, U22 Vietnam will face U22 Philippines at 3:30 p.m. in the semi-finals. With stable performance from the group stage, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team set a goal of qualifying for the final, thereby continuing the journey to conquer the SEA Games gold medal.
Shooting continues to be an expected sport when Vietnamese shooters compete in the 10m air pistol men's and women's doubles event from 9:30 to 11:30, including both qualifying and final round.
Meanwhile, athletics entered a dense competition day with many final events taking place from the evening, notably men's lao thumping, men's and women's long jump, men's and women's 400m hurdles, women's 10,000m and 4x100m relay events.
