Sprinting before the completion date
In early December, the working atmosphere at the project site with a total investment of more than VND 27,523 billion was always in a state of high urgency. From Can Tho gateway to Ca Mau, the 110km expressway is gradually taking shape as a "sild strip" that is being completed, ensuring the goal of completing the entire project by December 19 as directed by the Government.

Despite the erratic weather, workers are still working hard on every meter of road and bridge. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chan - a highway construction worker - shared that he was very happy when the highway passed through the area where he lived and felt proud to contribute to the national key project.

When we received the information that it had to be completed by December 19, we all worked hard to make progress. That will be the common joy of all workers and people in the Western region after many years of waiting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chan happily said.
Mr. Dang Ngoc Minh - Executive Director of Component 1 of Can Tho - Hau Giang section (My Thuan Project Management Board) - said that Component 1 project is 37.95 km long and has basically completed over 93% of the project volume. The unit is vigorously implementing and constructing some items to install traffic safety components, ensuring the completion of the main route before December 19.

Expectations to open new development space for the Mekong Delta
Mr. Lam Van Bi - Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee - said that the major transport projects being implemented in the province are of special importance. Not only completing the strategic infrastructure system, creating a breakthrough in marine economic development, ensuring national defense and security, but also breathing new life, strengthening the trust and excitement of the people in the southernmost part of the Fatherland.

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Ca Mau people expect the projects to open up new development space, enhance inter-regional connectivity, promote tourism and trade, create more jobs and maximize the existing potential and strengths of the locality.
From a business perspective, Dr. Tran Khac Tam - Chairman of the Soc Trang Business Association - said that the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway will solve one of the biggest "bottlenecks" in the Mekong Delta. For a long time, the whole region has depended on National Highway 1 and the narrow provincial road system, causing many difficulties in transporting goods and traveling. When the expressway comes into operation, travel time between economic centers in the region will be significantly reduced; the connection from the provinces to Can Tho International Airport will also be more convenient.

According to Dr. Tran Khac Tam, logistics and import-export businesses will benefit greatly when expressways help reduce congestion, reduce transportation interruptions - factors that increase production costs and reduce the competitiveness of goods. Reducing transportation costs will strongly support the agricultural - aquatic processing, logistics, and trade sectors, helping products of the Mekong Delta region increase their advantage in the domestic and international markets.

The Chairman of the Soc Trang Business Association also informed that in recent years, transport infrastructure in the Mekong Delta has received strong investment attention from the Party and the State. vertical and vertical expressways are gradually taking shape, creating great development momentum for the entire region. And the Mekong Delta is converging "time - land - prosperity" to join the country in a new stage of development.
The Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project is 110.85km long, divided into 2 component projects: Can Tho - Hau Giang section and Hau Giang - Ca Mau section. The total investment is VND 27,523 billion, started on January 1, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed in December 2025.
