In the most recent working session in early April, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that shooting is one of the key sports that received great attention and investment from the industry. Previously, at the 32nd SEA Games, shooting was not held. For each cycle, each coach will come up with a specific plan, guiding athletes to the final destination of the year, the SEA Games.
According to the representative of the High Performance Sports Department (Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports), in order to best prepare for important arenas, in the future, key athletes will be equipped with 12 more guns. Thus, each athlete will have 2 guns, including 1 gun in training and 1 new gun.
It is likely that the Vietnam Shooting Team will consider and invite more experts to serve the training work in the coming time, according to the proposal of Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong. At the same time, training, competition, logistics for athletes, especially the issue of bullets, need to be well ensured.
Regarding the professional factor, according to the proposal of the Mongolian expert, the Vietnam Shooting Team needs 8-10 training sessions this year. This is necessary for shooters to maintain their form, fitness, concentration as well as be able to change the training environment to increase excitement.
According to the schedule, in 2025, Vietnamese shooting will have about 22 major and minor tournaments at the domestic and international levels. Of course, the 33rd SEA Games is considered the most important arena with specific achievement targets. This is also a stepping stone for athletes to aim for more important goals at two larger arenas, the ASIAD and the Olympics.
