Nearly 17,500 candidates take the pedagogical capacity assessment exam
On May 17 and 18, nearly 17,500 candidates across the country took the proficiency assessment (SPT) exam of Hanoi National University of Education. This is the fourth time this exam has been held.

Dr. Dinh Minh Hang - Head of the Department of Administration - External Affairs, Hanoi National University of Education informed that due to the high number of candidates and spread to many localities across the country - including candidates from Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau... the school has arranged to organize exams at many locations, including 4 exam locations in Hanoi and exam locations in Nghe An, Da Nang, Binh Dinh.
Ms. Hang added that the number of candidates registered for this year's exam increased by nearly 6,000 compared to last year. Of which, Math leads the number of exam registrations with more than 13,000 entries. Following that are Literature subjects with nearly 12,000 and English subjects with more than 9,000 registered candidates. Biology is the subject with the fewest students participating in the exam with 845 registrations.
High competition, candidates worry about difficulties in passing the pedagogical major
Although it was almost noon before the exam procedure, Pham Thao Nguyen - a 12th grade student majoring in Mathematics at Luong Van Ty High School for the Gifted (Ninh Binh) - had been in Hanoi since 6am.
Thao Nguyen places her first wish in the Math Pedagogy major and focuses all her efforts on the SPT competency assessment test method. That is why I shared my nervous feelings before this important exam.
She said that she chose the pedagogy because of her passion, not the orientation of the family. However, I expressed concern at the high fighting rate of this industry. The prairies cited, the number of indicators for pedagogical industries is limited and small but the number of exams is re -enclosed. Only the method of examining the test scores, the number of students registering for the exam has been many times higher than the target.
However, the female student was still confident about 70 - 80% for the exam in the next 2 days and said: "I will try my best".
Unlike Thao Nguyen, Vu Hai Lam - a 12th grade student at Trung Vuong High School (Hung Yen) - chose more admission methods, including considering the ability assessment test scores and high school graduation exam scores for the Mathematical Pedagogy and Primary Education majors of the 5 schools training this major in the Northern region.
She said that she and her family were quite worried about their ability to pass the exam because the pedagogical industry in recent years has had fierce competition and the admission score is always high. "This competency assessment exam has more than 17,000 registrants. This is a very big number" - she said and said that she will try to stay optimistic and avoid stress.
Currently, Hai Lam expressed her excitement before the exam and hopes that she can achieve her dream through this competency assessment exam.
Attending the exam at Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh), Trinh Thi Thuy Trang - a student at Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted (Dak Lak) - also shared her concerns about the competition for the Pedagogy exam this year. I have set my aspiration to become a Literature Pedagogy major at 4 pedagogical universities in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
She shared that this year, university admission has been quite innovative, including a more practical and expanded exam structure. This is a difficulty and challenge, but also an opportunity because the assessment of candidates is differentiated.
"I will try to promote my strengths and have appropriate review and university admission strategies to overcome the strict competition rate of the pedagogical industry this year" - I expressed.
Candidates will take the SPT competency assessment test on May 17 and 18. Exam results can be used for admission to many universities. Currently, 25 schools across the country have recognized and have an admission method based on the exam scores of this exam.
