On the morning of April 12 in Thailand, Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan and Vice Chairman of VFF Tran Anh Tu visited and encouraged the spirit of the Vietnamese futsal team, aiming for the third-place match with the Australian team at the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan acknowledged the team's efforts throughout the journey at the tournament. He emphasized that the third-place match is an important opportunity for the team to close the tournament with a positive result, thereby creating motivation for the next stage.
In the context that the national team is in a force transfer phase with the participation of many young players, the VFF President requested the whole team to continue to promote the spirit of disciplined competition, concentration and bravery in important matches, in order to accumulate experience for the long-term development process.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan noted that in direct elimination matches, the decisive factor often lies in the ability to maintain concentration and limit personal mistakes. Therefore, the whole team needs to play with high determination but must maintain alertness, control emotions well to avoid unnecessary situations affecting the match result.
Agreeing with this view, VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu emphasized that the Vietnam futsal team has every basis to be confident before the match, as they have maintained a competitive position for many years and regularly achieved high results in the regional arena.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu expressed his belief that the players will promote their professional capacity well, play with the highest determination to aim for positive results against the Australian team.
In addition, VFF leaders also requested the coaching staff to prepare carefully in terms of expertise, study the opponent and build appropriate tactics to achieve the highest efficiency in the third-place match.
According to the schedule, the third-place match between the Vietnamese futsal team and the Australian futsal team will take place at 5:00 PM today (April 12) in Thailand.
